Our European Ulysses Meeting from Friday 10 June to Monday 13 June has come to an end.

Like last year it was a great success. We were about 45 riders. This year we were truly international. Apart from the German Ulysseans there were riders from Australia, New Zealand, Norway and a large group from the UK.
We arrived at the little village Aitern – Schoenau in the Black Forest on Friday night and were received by a large band of the local music club dressed in local costumes and playing traditional music.

On Saturday and Sunday we did two day trips of about 200 kilometers each mostly on small winding roads through the beautiful hills of the Black Forest.
On Saturday evening prizes were awarded.
78-year-old Frank Rouse from the Ulysses-Club UK was awarded the prize for the oldest rider.
Knut Sveen from Norway was awarded the prize for the longest distance travelled to our meeting. He had travelled 1900 kilometers in only 27 hours.
On we departed. Most of us had to go home, but quite a large group of riders went on the French Alps to spend another week together.
As I said before, the meeting was a great success. The weather was fine, we had good accommodation, good food and a beautiful countryside but most important of all there were all those fantastic Ulysseans who had come to attend our meeting and who became really good friends. We already look forward to seeing them again next year at the European Meeting in the UK.
